Why Elm Hill Cookies?

Elm Hill Cookies was created by Janis Smith in 2010. Janis has loved to bake cookies ever since she put the light bulb in her first Easy Bake Oven™. Bringing the joy of a freshly baked cookie to other people is what inspires her every day.

The inspiration for the name comes from a beautiful cobbled stone lane located in Norwich, England. The street dates back to the Tudor period and acquired its name from the elm trees that stood in the square since the 16th century. It had many small independent shops back then and still is a top tourist area to this day. Janis fell in love with the area the first time she saw it and decided to name her cookie shop after this nod to a simpler time.
